Valpolicella is the hilly region north-west of Verona, famous worldwide for its red wines, all honored with DOC and DOCG awards: the young and fruity Valpolicella Classico, its more mature version Valpolicella Superiore, the extremely fragrant Ripasso, the intense, full-bodied, spiced and unforgettable Amarone della Valpolicella, with its hints of cherry, vanilla and chocolate, and the sweet but structured Recioto.
A panoramic route
We will leave the city enjoying the view of some of the most significant monuments of the historic center, then follow the river Adige, and driving into country roads surrounded by rolling hills, lush vineyards, small villages and ancient churches in the heart of Valpolicella. We will stop along the way to enjoy some of the most scenic spots.
Winery and tasting
We will visit two family-run wineries, where we will visit the vineyards, the fermentation area, the barrel cellar, and above all we will enjoy a tasting with the most representative wines of Valpolicella (Valpolicella Classico, Superiore, Ripasso, Amarone, and Recioto). Some local olive oil on bread, cheese and salami will be offered. At the winery it is always possible to buy and ship wine and olive oil.
